How to Order Author Copies from Amazon KDP (Step-by-Step Guide)
An author can order an author copy from Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) by following these steps:
Go to your KDP Bookshelf: Log in to your KDP account and navigate to the "Bookshelf" section.
Find your book: Locate the paperback or hardcover book you want to order.
Click on the button “Order Author Copies”
Enter order details: Specify the quantity of copies you want and choose the Amazon marketplace based on your shipping destination, usually this is Amazon.com for US shipping.
Proceed to checkout: Click on "Proceed to checkout." You will be redirected to the Amazon shopping cart for your chosen marketplace to complete your order.
Note: If your book is in "Live with unpublished changes" status, the option to order author copies might take an additional 24 hours to appear after your title goes live.
Additional tips:
Author copies are offered at cost: The price you pay is based on the printing cost of your book.
Author copies do not include unpublished changes: The copies will reflect the version of your book that is currently live on Amazon.
You can order up to 999 copies at a time: If you need more copies, you can place multiple orders.
